King’s College London is a research-intensive university at the heart of London with a truly global perspective. Since its founding in 1829, King’s students and staff have dedicated themselves to the service of society. In alignment with this commitment, King’s College launched the Sanctuary Program in response to the rise in forced displacement.

Harnessing King’s expertise in education and remote learning, world-class research, and existing partnerships, the Sanctuary Program includes a range of projects, including:

  • Partnership for Digital Learning and Increased Access (PADILEIA), which offers contextualized, blended learning programs that have reached over 13,000 refugee learners.
  • Sanctuary Scholarships, which cover tuition, living costs, and free legal advice for asylum seekers without access to student finance.
  • Homes for Ukraine University Sponsorship model, which hosts displaced Ukrainian students and academics.

King’s College takes pride in being awarded the “Refugees Welcome” accreditation, underscoring our commitment to embracing forced migrants within its institution and community.
