Opening Universities for Refugees is founded in 2015 to build new knowledge networks and create partnerships to offer higher education for displaced communities in Southeast Asia. OUR has been hosting platforms for dialogue called 3C Forum and bringing different stakeholders together to . Since 2015 five 3C Forums were hosted in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia, by working closely with refugee communities, various universities in the region and UNHCR. Staring from February 2020, it will end its ICO status (as registered in UK) and will continue its activities under the newly established academic institution, Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies at University of Auckland, New Zealand.
