The Mosaik Education Guidance Workshops are a series of eight blended learning sessions that support refugee students with academic guidance to access higher education. The workshops are delivered in partnership with Local Partners and peer mentor volunteers.
The workshops aim to enable each participant to determine which higher education pathways are best adapted to her/him and gain the needed competencies to achieve their dreams and access the tertiary education program they aspire for. Workshops participants’ learning and planning for higher education is reinforced through a series of peer mentorship sessions that focus on execution of the plan for application that participants develop during the workshops.
“I decided to continue studying years ago but I couldn’t find chances for me as a refugee so I had to wait…When I first heard about the Guidance Workshop I thought that I already knew all the information… But now that I have completed the workshop, [I know] I was wrong, there’s so much information that I didn’t… it was very helpful for learning about opportunities.
In this workshop, I learned many things like how to write a CV, recommendation letter, motivational letter, cover letter. All these things are really important to be accepted at a university. [The workshop] helped me a lot especially with life skills and those are really important.”“I highly recommend Mosaik workshop for new students and for students who hesitate to choose which specialization fits them best. If I had this workshop a few years ago, things might have been different for me.”
